Flights to Greece

Your flight time to Greece depends on where you’re flying from and which airport you’re landing in. A journey from New York to Greece, Athens will take a little under nine hours, while Los Angeles to Greece takes around 16 hours with a connection.

You can fly to Greece from a number of US cities. Flights with British Airways include a connection at either London Heathrow or London Gatwick.

You’re likely to save if you visit Greece during the winter, especially from December to March. You’ll get to experience the country’s best attractions while they’re much quieter, and if you’re lucky, you might even see world-famous sites like the Acropolis covered in snow.

Greece is at its best during the summer, when it experiences long days filled with sunshine. However, the beaches and bars are much busier during these times, so visit during the spring or autumn – May or September are the sweet spots – to enjoy great weather without the crowds.

A trip to Greece can be very affordable and often depends on where you travel. Santorini and Mykonos are known for being on the more expensive side, but there are lots of islands that you can visit for less. If you travel to Greece with a valid British passport and stay for less than 90 days, a visa is not required. If you’re from a country outside the EU, you may need to apply for a visa in advance of your trip.
