Flights to Iceland

Your flight time to Iceland depends on where you’re flying from and which airport you’re landing in. A journey from New York to Iceland will take around thirteen hours including a connection in London, while Los Angeles to Iceland takes just over 15 hours with a connection.

You can fly to Iceland from a number of US cities. Flights with British Airways include a connection at either London Heathrow or London Gatwick.

It depends on what you’re looking for out of your trip. Iceland is famous for its winter adventures, but summer visits offer up a totally different side to the island. The easiest way to get around Iceland is by renting a car, or a camper van in the summer if you want to do as much exploring as possible. In the warmer months there are also buses to get you from A to B, even if B is on the other side of the country. If you’re staying in Reykjavik, you can get around on foot or by bus.

The unforgettable scenery in Iceland is so unique. Soak up the sight of bubbling geysers, geothermal pools and active volcanoes, before looking up at the sky to see the glorious Northern Lights. Then there’s the trendy capital Reykjavik, which is packed with unique museums and an exciting nightlife scene.

Citizens of the UK and Ireland and EU passport holders do not need a visa to visit. If you hold a passport from a country or territory outside of these areas, you may need to apply for a visa before you travel.
