Your flight time to Turkey depends on where you’re flying from and which airport you’re landing in. A journey from New York to Paris will take just under twelve hours including a connection in London, while Los Angeles to Turkey takes just over 16 hours with a connection.
You can fly to Turkey from a number of US cities. Flights with British Airways include a connection at either London Heathrow or London Gatwick.
The most popular time to visit is during the spring and summer months. Book your flights for autumn or winter to enjoy mild weather and make the most of this year-round destination’s attractions and experiences but with fewer crowds.
You can make a trip to Turkey fit any budget. Enjoy delicious and inexpensive street food, like simit – a Turkish bagel – and gozleme – a stuffed flatbread – to save on eating out. Citizens of the UK and Ireland and EU passport holders do not need a visa to visit Turkey, but they will need to hold a valid UK passport with at least six months validity. If you hold a passport from a country or territory outside of these areas, you may need to apply for a visa before you travel.
