Flights to the Czech Republic

You can fly from London to the Czech capital, Prague, in approximately two hours.

July and August can be very popular with tourists, so if you want to avoid the crowds, spring and autumn might be better times to visit. To see the Christmas markets in Prague, visit between the end of November and late December.

The Czech Republic is one of the cheaper countries in Europe to visit, so it’s popular with budget travellers. To make your money go further in Prague, find accommodation outside the cobblestone centre and get around using public transport passes that allow you to switch between different types of transport.

You’re also more likely to find value for money if you travel outside the capital to enjoy other areas such as the breweries of Plzeň, or the popular cafes and bars of Brno.

The Czech Republic has a large railway network and bus system, allowing you to travel around the country affordably. In Prague you can get around using trams, buses, the metro, ferries and even cable cars.

Citizens of the UK and Ireland and EU passport holders do not need a visa to visit the Czech Republic. If you hold a passport from a country or territory outside of these areas, you may need to apply for a visa before you travel.
