The climate in Athens is considered mild, with average temperatures only dipping to 10°C in January. The area sees an average of 260 days of sunshine a year. Its hottest months are July and August, with temperatures above 30°C most days.
After touching down in Athens, passengers exit the airport from the arrivals level of the Main Terminal building. Visitors can take the Metro Line 3, or an OASA Bus to central Athens. Suburban rail and regional busses also service popular destinations further afield. A taxi to central Athens is available from Exit 3 on the arrivals level - passengers pay a flat fare of €35 during the day and €50 for the evening.
