Flights to Milan

Your flight time to Milan depends on where you’re flying from and which airport you’re landing in. A journey from New York to Milan will take around eight hours, while Los Angeles to Milan takes just over 14 hours including a connection.

You can fly to Milan from a number of US cities. Flights with British Airways include a connection at either London Heathrow or London Gatwick.

A trip to Milan can be very affordable, especially if you visit in the low season (between November and March), saving you money on both flights and accommodation. Once you touch down in Milan, you’ll be landing at one of three airports. Linate Airport (LIN) is the closest to the city centre and a taxi or shuttle bus takes around 20 minutes. Malpensa Airport (MXP) is a larger airport that's farther from the city centre (taking around 50-60 minutes by train). The most convenient and economical option is to take a train straight to Milano Centrale. Taxis are also available from outside all airports.

Citizens of the UK and Ireland and EU passport holders do not need a visa to visit Italy. UK passports must have at least three months' validity beyond the end of your visit.
