Stroll around the beautiful Lille Lungegårdsvannet, a natural five-acre lake where you can picnic during summer or make snowmen nearby in winter. Wander by the wharf of Bryggen during the day to admire the history which emanates through the blend of stone and wooden architecture. Or pop into the Bryggens Museum to discover more of Bergen’s heritage. Watch the wharf light up at night for a spectacular city view and mountain silhouettes.

Known for its several neighbouring mountains, Bergen hosts a spectacular hiking and climbing scene. Look out for trails along the Løvstakken, Sandviksfjellet and Blåmanen for panoramic views. Perhaps for the more leisurely, walk the smaller Damsgårdsfjellet for magnificent views at the top, standing 300 metres high. Or for the adventurers out there, set your pace for the Gullfjellet. At nearly 1000 metres tall, this glorious spectacle sits on the borders of Bergen and Samnanger. If hiking isn’t your cup of tea, jump on the Bergen funicular railway, to arrive at the sensational view-point of Mt Fløyen and experience the only railway of its kind in Norway.
