Direct flights from London to Barcelona take around 2 hours. You can fly from London Heathrow (LHR) or London Gatwick (LGW) to Barcelona Airport (BCN). British Airways provides several direct flights to Barcelona from London. Choose from a variety of daily flights with a selection of departure times.
Barcelona Airport (BCN) is just seven and a half miles from Barcelona’s city centre. Hiring a car gives you the freedom to make your way to the city in your own time, as well as venture further afield. Drive along the coastline of Costa Dorada or Costa Bravo to explore little seaside villages or discover pretty vineyards in valleys and on mountaintops.
You can also reach Barcelona’s city centre via the Aerobus bus service or the RENFE R2 Nord train; you can also hop in a taxi from outside of the arrivals area. The ride will take about 30 minutes and cost around 30 euros. Alternatively, make your trip away even easier by pre-booking an airport transfer to your Barcelona hotel before you travel. You’ll be given the opportunity to add a shuttle or private door-to-door transfer once you’ve booked your Barcelona flight or holiday.
