Tampa International Airport is 10km west of downtown Tampa. You can drive to Walt Disney World Resort from Tampa Airport in just under an hour and a half, depending on the traffic. It takes only two hours to reach Universal Orlando Resort. You can drive this area of the Gulf Coast in a day since the region is just over 200 miles long. However, you’ll want to spend longer than that on its beaches – they’re perfect. Pick up a hire car, and start exploring. If you’re heading straight to your hotel, why not pre-book your shuttle or private transfer with us before you travel? Simply add it to your booking when prompted.

There’s no need to get a visa in advance – if you’re travelling to Tampa on a British passport. However, you do need to apply for an ESTA. You should get your ESTA at least 72 hours before you travel, and it will cost $14. An ESTA is valid for multiple journeys. You can use it for two years, or until your passport expires.

It’s important to tip in the US, not only in restaurants, but also in bars, hotels, taxis, and on the golfing green. At restaurants, expect to tip 15-20%.
It’s easy to drive Florida’s Gulf Coast. The I-75 is the main motorway joining Tampa to Miami. For a more scenic route between the two, take the Tamiami Trail through the Everglades.
