Montreal flight FAQs

A flight from London to Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport takes approximately seven hours and 25 minutes.

Montreal experiences snowy winters – so much so that there’s an underground version of the city that stretches for 33 kilometres, complete with a shopping mall, food market and entertainment district. It’s also a hub for those heading to the slopes, with destinations like Mont Tremblant just two hours away. Summers are also busy, with balmy weather ideal for exploring neighbourhoods, attending outdoor festivals and visiting the long list of beauty spots on offer. This means that spring and autumn are often the cheapest times of year to visit Montreal.

Montreal is a great option for a budget-friendly Canadian adventure. With all the accessible nature both in the city and just outside of it, you can spend your time ticking off the city’s tourist spots on foot, running in the parks or cycling on the trails. There are lots of affordable food options too – make sure to indulge in some poutine, which originated in Quebec, and a smoked meat sandwich or two. Throw in the many museums and art galleries, lots of which are free to visit at certain times, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a pocket-pleasing break.

There are lots of options for getting from Montreal’s airport to the city centre. Hop on the bus service that runs every day of the year, take a train or hail a taxi to get you downtown.

You can also hire a car with British Airways if you want to get out of the city and see more of what Quebec has to offer. You’ll receive great benefits, with all mandatory charges included and 24-hour customer support, plus you’ll collect Avios points on every rental.

If you’re keen to experience all of Canada’s best bits, don’t leave Montreal’s unique culture off your list. Visit in the summer and you can soak up the sunshine while eating outside at restaurants, enjoy the nightlife in The Village and see local artists and performers at Quartier Des Spectacles. Make it a winter break and you can take advantage of the city’s plethora of winter sports, all within reach of your hotel room. Think cross-country skiing at one of the city’s many parks, ice skating at the rinks and refueling with maple taffy.
