You can reach Langkawi via Kuala Lumpur. A flight from London to Kuala Lumpur International Airport takes approximately 13 hours.
The dry season in Langkawi falls between November and March, with there’s not much rainfall and temperatures reach up to 35°C. While it’s the most popular time of year to visit the island, with demand for hotels and tours at its highest, you can often find good deals on flights at the very start of the season in November.
The rainy season runs between April and October, but the months of April, May and June are still good times to visit Langkawi. With fewer visitors, the must-see attractions are easy to access and you’ll find great deals at the island’s top resorts.

Langkawi was given duty-free status in 1987, and since then has earned a reputation for being a great place to pick up bargain clothing, perfume, cosmetics, electronics and even kitchenware.
The best duty-free outlets in Langkawi are found in the island’s main towns of Kuah and Pantai Cenang, and it’s definitely worth saving some space in your suitcase to take advantage of the low prices.
Langkawi International Airport is located around 13km from the centre of the island, and a taxi is the best way to travel to your resort on arrival. One-way taxi fares from the airport are fixed, and you can purchase a coupon at the taxi counter inside the terminal.
Public transport on the island is limited, with taxis the most popular way to get around. Visitors can also hire scooters and bicycles, which are very well-priced.
