Flights to Toronto

The cloud-scraping towers, famous sports teams and line-up of celebrity residents have all helped Toronto make its mark on the international stage. So much so that you’d be forgiven for thinking it was Canada’s capital rather than its actual capital, Ottawa. Add the city’s proximity to the world-famous Niagra Falls and it becomes clear that Toronto should be on everyone’s list of must-visit destinations.

Toronto flight FAQs

A flight from London Heathrow to Toronto Pearson International Airport takes approximately seven hours and 50 minutes.

Toronto experiences cold winters, but if you don’t mind exploring the city while it’s covered in snow, you might also find prices are lower. Tourist season kicks off in late spring, which is when flights and hotels will start to cost more. Prices can also spike around Canadian Thanksgiving in October.

As one of Canada’s most famous cities, Toronto can be pricey – but if you’re on a budget, there are plenty of ways you can keep costs down. There are a range of accommodation options available across its neighbourhoods, from affordable hostels to upmarket hotels. Thanks to the excellent public transport options, you can easily choose to stay outside of the downtown area and travel in to see Toronto’s attractions. Try the city’s food markets at mealtimes to save on sitting down at restaurants, and make the most of cheap or free activities, like museums and walking tours.

There are several ways to get to downtown Toronto, including the Union Pearson Express. The train takes around 25 minutes to reach Union Station. You can also take a bus or a taxi.

Once you’re in the heart of the city, you can get around by streetcar, subway and ferry.

If you want to see more of Canada than just Toronto, hire a car with British Airways. You’ll receive great benefits, with all mandatory charges included and 24-hour customer support, plus you’ll collect Avios points on every rental.

Toronto is one of Canada’s unmissable destinations. It’s home to all the hallmarks of a modern city, from sprawling shopping malls and food markets to a theatre district and its own film festival. But it’s not just a concrete jungle – hiking, kayaking and even camping is possible in and around Toronto’s metropolitan area. .
