Frequently asked questions

How can I pay for my British Airways booking?

Last updated: 5 February, 2026

On ba.com

You can pay for your booking online with a credit, debit or charge card, or PayPal.  You'll see the available options on the payment page when making your booking.
For flight-only bookings, you’ll need to pay in full at the time of booking. British Airways Holidays bookings can be secured with a deposit, subject to booking criteria.
If you're travelling from the UK, you can also pay with a Switch/Maestro, Solo or a Visa/Delta debit card, issued by a UK bank and billed to a UK address.

Over the phone

You can book and pay for your ticket over the phone. Please note that booking fees may apply.

How do I enter my card details to pay on ba.com?

Please provide your card number as one long entry, without characters or spaces between the numbers. You’ll be asked for your credit card security number, which is normally the three digits on the back of the card in the authorised signature box. If you have an American Express card, this will be a four-digit number on the front of your card.

If I use ba.com, when will my credit card be debited?

Your credit card will be debited when your ticket is issued, usually within a few hours of making the booking.
