You can fly to Mumbai from a number of US cities. Flights with British Airways include a connection at either London Heathrow or London Gatwick.
Your flight time from the USA to Mumbai depends on where you’re flying from and which airport you’re landing in. A journey from New York to Mumbai will take around 17.5 hours which includes a connection at London Heathrow, while Los Angeles to Mumbai takes just over 21 hours with a connection.

You can make your trip to Mumbai fit any budget. Use Mumbai’s extensive local train and bus networks, dine at local street food vendors – which are available throughout the city – and visit free attractions, like Marine Drive and Juhu Beach. Budget-friendly museums like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya and Nehru Science Centre are also worth a visit. Once you land in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the easiest way to reach the city centre is on the Mumbai Suburban Railway, which takes about 45 minutes. You can also catch a taxi from outside the terminal building which will get you to your destination in around 30 minutes.
Visit Mumbai for its vibrant energy, diverse culture and buzzing city life. You can explore Haji Ali Dargah, an iconic mosque and dargah, on an islet off the coast of Worli by crossing the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. This modern bridge offers impressive views of the city and the Arabian Sea. Then visit one of Mumbai’s most impressive temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the Siddhivinayak Temple. If you fancy getting out of the city to enjoy nature, visit Sanjay Gandhi National Park, home to the Kanheri Caves.
