Avios part payment on flights and holidays
What is Avios part payment?
With Avios part payment you can reduce the cost of a flight or holiday, plus you’ll continue to collect Avios and tier points. The more Avios you use, the less cash you pay – this can be as little as £1.
Why use part payment?
- Reduce the price of your next flight or holiday* using Avios – you can save money on your trip with as little as 1,000 Avios.
- Save on flights or holidays* using British Airways flights, American Airlines flights routes between the UK and North America, and on British Airways codeshare flights with selected partner airlines.
- Choose from a range of savings by destination and travel class. Simply choose your flights or holiday* to see the options on the payment page.
- Even when using Avios to make a saving, you will still collect Avios and tier points on your flight as well as any bonus Avios and tier points if applicable.
How it works
1. Log in to your British Airways Club account and search for flights, Flight + Hotel or Flight + Car packages*. (Or if you search first, you'll be prompted to log in once you've selected your flight or holiday.)
2. Look for your part payment options on the price page once you’ve selected your flights or holiday*.
- You’ll see the options for part paying with Avios automatically on any eligible flight or holiday*.
- Part payment is available on flights or holidays* using British Airways, American Airlines between the UK and North America, and British Airways codeshares with selected partners.
- Your saving options will vary depending on your chosen travel class, destination, whether your flight is one way or return and the number of people in the booking.
3. Select the saving you’d like to make on your flights or holiday*. The price will adjust automatically. If you didn’t log in at the start of your flight or holiday* search, there’s another chance to do so now.
4. Continue as usual to complete your booking.

Join The British Airways Club
To start saving on flights and holidays* using Avios, you just need to be a member of The British Airways Club.
If you're not already a member, it's free to sign up. As well as collecting Avios, you'll also have access to a range of exclusive offers and promotions.
Upgrades, changes and cancellations
Like any regular cash booking, your options for upgrading, changing or cancelling a flight or holiday* purchased with Avios part payment will depend on the fare type or holiday booked.
