We're simplifying the way you collect Avios on holiday packages
From 24 November, members of The British Airways Club can collect 6 Avios for every £1 spent on the total cost of their holiday package, with Avios split evenly between the number of travellers on the booking. All travellers who add a Club membership number can collect Avios.
This replaces the current approach, where travellers collect Avios on the flight element, while the lead traveller also collects 1 bonus Avios for every £1 spent on their holiday package.
It's a simpler and more rewarding way to collect Avios on holidays. If you have a household account, you can choose to pool your Avios together or collect them individually.

Each member collects 1,690 Avios on the Flight element of the package, and the lead traveller collects an additional 3,600 bonus Avios.
From 24 Nov: Collect 6 Avios for every £1 spent on holiday packages
Total Avios will be split evenly between the travellers on the booking.
Each member can collect 10,800 Avios.

Members of The British Airways Club can collect 6 Avios for every £1 spent on the total cost of their holiday package, with Avios split evenly between the number of travellers on the booking. All travellers who add a Club membership number will collect Avios.

Yes. Club members will continue to collect Avios on qualifying Avis or Budget car hire booked with British Airways Holidays, in addition to the Avios you collect from British Airways Holidays.
The new collection rate applies to eligible British Airways Holidays packages booked from 12:00 GMT on 24 November 2026, regardless of your travel dates.
If you booked your holiday before 12:00 GMT on 24 November 2026, you'll continue to collect Avios under the previous earning structure.
This means eligible travellers will collect flight Avios, plus the lead traveller will collect an additional 1 bonus Avios per £1 spent on the eligible holiday package booking.

Ancillaries purchased through British Airways Holidays, such as sightseeing excursions and transfers, will qualify towards the total eligible value of your holiday package.
Products with their own standalone Avios earning mechanic, such as seat selection and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) contributions, will continue to be separate and will not be included in the holiday package spend calculation.
Mandatory local taxes, fees or charges payable directly to your accommodation on arrival aren't included.
You will collect Avios on the total eligible value of your holiday package, regardless of whether you choose to part-pay or pay-in-full using Avios.
Your Avios are calculated using the final eligible value of your holiday package at the time of travel.
If you amend your booking, including adding extras and the total holiday package price changes, your Avios award will reflect these changes.
Children aged two years or older on the date of the outbound flight can collect Avios, provided they are British Airways Club members and their membership number is added to the booking before travel.

To receive your Avios, make sure your British Airways Club membership number is added to your booking before you travel.
Yes. British Airways American Express® Companion Vouchers can still be redeemed alongside the new Avios proposition. As Companion Vouchers are redeemed at the time of booking and Avios are awarded after travel, you’ll collect Avios on the total price of your holiday package, prior to any Avios payment reductions, excluding any local taxes, fees and charges payable directly to the accommodation.

If you book an eligible holiday package as part of a bonus Avios promotion, you'll receive the bonus Avios in accordance with the terms of that specific offer.
