Is Athens cheap to visit?
As Greece’s capital, Athens is a very reasonably priced European city. If you avoid travelling during peak summer months (June, July and August), it’s much easier to find flight and hotel deals. Many of the most popular attractions offer joint tickets and are free on the first Sunday of every month from November to March. Stroll around the historic city centre and National Garden or go hiking for a spectacular view of Athens.

Is it easy to get around Athens?
Athens International Airport (ATH) is 20km from the city centre. Transport connections are easily accessible from the terminal with taxis operating a flat rate to and from the airport. Trains on Line 3 of the Athens Metro run every 30 minutes with a journey to the city’s central Syntagma station taking around 40 minutes. The airport also has suburban rail links to Athens Railway Station and several 24-hour bus services. Once you’ve arrived, it’s easy to get around on foot or use Athens’ metro system to explore the city.
