Copenhagen flight FAQs

How long is a flight to Copenhagen?

Flights from London to Copenhagen take around one hour and 50 minutes.

What’s the cheapest month to fly to Copenhagen?

You’ll find great prices all year round, though you might find flights are slightly cheaper in February or March.

Is Copenhagen cheap to visit?

While eating out and drinking in Copenhagen can be on the pricey side, many of the city’s popular attractions – like the National Museum, the Botanic Garden and the tower atop Christiansborg Palace – are free to visit. If you’re on a budget, avoid the tourist-heavy bars and restaurants of the city centre and head for local spots off the beaten track instead.

If you’re staying for a few days and plan on seeing as much of the city as possible, you may save money with pre-paid travel passes, which give you unlimited access to public transport.

Is it easy to get around Copenhagen?

Just 8km from the city centre, Copenhagen’s airport is well served by both the regular Metro service and trains that run every 10 minutes, with both services taking just 15 minutes. Once you’re in the city, it couldn’t be easier to get around. Either walk, hire a bike or make the most of the efficient bus, train and Metro services.

You can also hire a car with British Airways if you want to get out of the city and see more of what Denmark has to offer. You’ll receive great benefits, with all mandatory charges included and 24-hour customer support, plus you’ll collect Avios points on every rental.

Why visit Copenhagen?

Copenhagen often tops the polls for happiness, livability and sustainability, so it’s easy to see why so many are smitten with its relaxed way of life. You’ll find a seamless balance of old and new, with carefully considered contemporary architecture sitting beautifully alongside its historic palaces and landmarks.

As the former home of the world-famous fairy-tale author, you can’t visit Copenhagen without passing by the Hans Christian Anderson Experience, a museum dedicated to his life’s work. Then head up Langelinie Pier to visit the Little Mermaid statue. Keep that childlike wonder going a little longer with a visit to Tivoli Gardens, an amusement park built in 1843 that’s said to have inspired Walt Disney when planning his very own parks.
