Bridge Bar launches at JFK Terminal 8

We've teamed up with American Airlines, Aviation American Gin and Betty Buzz drinks to unveil the Bridge Bar in the Greenwich Lounge at New York JFK Airport.

Lounge customers can enjoy exclusive cocktails and mocktails featuring the gin, co-owned by actor Ryan Reynolds, and Betty Buzz non-alcoholic mixers, founded by fellow Hollywood star Blake Lively.

Avios part payment with British Airways Holidays

Our new partnership with Kenya Airways makes it even easier for you to connect to new destinations in East and Central Africa. If you fly to Nairobi with British Airways, you’ll now be able to seamlessly connect to 20 destinations across East and Central Africa. British Airways’ Executive Club members will earn Avios and tier points when flying on eligible codeshare routes operated by Kenya Airways.

New look comfort items

Our World Traveller experience just got comfier, with freshly designed blankets and cushions. Exclusive to our economy cabin beyond Europe, you can relax and drift to sleep with ergonomically designed seats and updated comfort items.

These renewed comfort items are now available on London Heathrow flights and will be available on London Gatwick flights from 1 March 2020.

Guinness World Record breakers

To mark this year’s Sport Relief, British Airways colleagues were joined by sporting greats to achieve a Guinness World Records title for the Heaviest Aircraft Pulled Over 100 Metres by a mixed team.

The 90-strong team, including Sport Relief Ambassadors Joe Wicks, Gabby Logan, Gary Lineker, Nicola Adams, Iwan Thomas and Alfie Hewitt, pulled our brand new A350 aircraft, weighing a massive 182.9 tonnes, as part of a fundraising effort in support of Flying Start, our global charity partnership with Comic Relief.

New Royal Air Maroc codeshare

We’ve teamed up with Royal Air Maroc, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Morocco, to offer a codeshare partnership on flights between Europe and Africa. This means that British Airways customers can now connect seamlessly to Royal Air Maroc’s Casablanca hub and onto their extensive network beyond including Agadir, Abidjan and Freetown. Customers can book their entire journey on ba.com, benefit from lounge access based on cabin eligibility and frequent flyers will earn Avios points on the codeshare routes operated by Royal Air Maroc. As Royal Air Maroc will become the newest member of oneworld on 1 April 2020, Executive Club Members will earn and redeem Avios and miles in each carriers’ respective frequent flyer programmes.

Fly carbon neutral

Did you know that British Airways is now offsetting carbon emissions for all flights within the UK? The emissions from these flights are offset and invested in carbon reduction projects around the world, including rainforest protection programmes and reforestation. If you’re travelling internationally and are concerned about your carbon footprint, you can reduce your impact on the environment by using our carbon offsetting tool.

TAG is a reusable digital bag tag that seamlessly connects your luggage to your smartphone. Simply attach your personal TAG to your luggage before bag drop and link it with your British Airways app to ensure your details travel with your bag on its journey.

TAG can be used over 3,000 times, making it a valuable time saver for frequent flyers.

Pay for Baggage with Avios

You can now use your Avios to pay for extra baggage in advance via Manage My Booking, with full or part payment options available. This new benefit gives you more options to spend your Avios and is available for British Airways operated flights.

New routes announced for London Gatwick

Two new transatlantic routes will be added to our summer 2018 schedule at Gatwick. Toronto in Canada, will be taking to the air from 1 May and Las Vegas from 27 March 2018.

Wi-Fi in the sky

Starting this year with selected long haul Boeing 747s, we will fit our planes with the latest generation Wi-Fi. You will be able to use your smartphone, tablet or laptop to send and receive messages, listen to music online, stream videos, post pictures and a lot more.
