East Winds is a secluded, tranquil haven, located at La Brelotte Bay on St Lucia’s north west coastline. It’s situated within 12 acres of glorious tropical grounds which lead onto a stunning private beach. This elegant, all-inclusive resort has a distinctly grown-up feel, featuring cottage-style accommodation, an oceanfront restaurant providing silver service and Champagne for dinner and extensive complimentary land and water activities.
This charming, much-loved boutique hotel is reached off the main west coast road, positioned in a beautiful, private bay – easily considered one of the finest beaches on the island. Rodney Bay is under four miles north of East Winds – for shops, restaurants and bars, while the bustling capital of Castries is 4.5 miles south of the resort. Local souvenirs, fresh island produce and crafts can be purchased at the large, open-air Castries Market, open every day except Sundays. Or head out on a catamaran cruise to view the iconic Pitons – Petit Piton and Gros Piton. Boat tours generally arrive during the early hours or around sunset, when these majestic, twin volcanic spires rising out of the sea are best seen. Hewanorra International Airport is approximately 37 miles from the hotel.
The hotel offers just 30 attractive cottages, set among the tropical vegetation, each with a private, shaded furnished terrace or patio. You are provided with tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a fridge which is refreshed daily with soft drinks and beers. The decor is characteristic of typical Caribbean hotels, with dark wooden furniture, terracotta tiled flooring, vaulted ceilings and fans – with throws, pillows and flowers providing a splash of colour. Most rooms overlook the pool or gardens while Superior Cottages offer spectacular sea views and are set closer to the yoga pavilion and restaurant.

For a relatively small property, the facilities here are extensive. Not only do you have access to a secluded, picturesque beach – where drinks service is available so there’s no need to move from your shade and sunbed, there's also a good-sized swimming pool with a self-service swim-up bar.
For a break from the sun, retreat to the beautiful tropical grounds, brimming with palms, ferns, flamboyants, fruit trees, ginger lilies and hibiscus. The flora is numbered and referenced in an illustrated guide available in your room and free tours with the head gardener are offered each week. Expect to see hummingbirds, herons and various doves while you meander around the lovely surroundings.
Nestled within the trees and flowers is the open-air Garden Spa, offering spa treatments in a calm and natural atmosphere, while the outdoor pavilion holds both yoga and Pilates classes. You can also access kayaks, paddleboards and Hobie Cats at the water sports centre or try out the keep-fit trail around the grounds where workout suggestions are featured at each stop.
Dining at East Winds, whatever time of day, is an occasion, despite only having one main oceanfront restaurant which is open for every meal. The variety of food is unbeatable, where the focus lies in carefully prepared meals using organic vegetables and a daily catch delivered by local fishermen. Breakfast and lunch are casual meals, served buffet style where no dress code applies. Be sure to pick up a glass of ‘therapy’ made from fresh fruits and vegetables every morning or grab a little snack in between meals if you are peckish. The restaurant comes into its own at dinner time, where an evening dress code applies and you are treated to a four-course, lavish silver service menu, complemented with Champagne, as well as a choice of wine from the hotel’s wine cellar.
For something special, arrangements can be made to sit under thatched gazebos along the beachfront, for a private lunch or dinner dining experience.
DRESS CODE. Gentleman are required to wear long trousers for evening cocktails and dinner and no sleeveless shirts are to be worn in the restaurant or bar in the evenings.
We strongly recommend that transfers are booked in this destination. Transfers must be booked as additional items, for which separate vouchers will be required.
