UK Air Traffic Control technical issue
An update on our schedule – 9 September
Our teams have worked throughout the night to build a new flight schedule for today so we're able to operate as many flights as we can, following the significant disruption we experienced yesterday as a result of the NATS outage. With so many planes and crew out of place, we're left with no choice but to cancel more than 190 flights of our original planned schedule.
While this incident has been completely outside of our control, we do not underestimate the impact it's had on the tens of thousands of our customers who faced disruption yesterday and today, and we're very sorry.
If you have been disrupted, we're doing everything we can to try and get you to where you need to be. Thank you for your understanding while we work to find solutions for everyone.
Our phone lines are extremely busy, as are our chat lines, and we ask customers whose flights are cancelled to not come to the airport.
If you no longer wish to travel today, you can move your flight for free up until Sunday 13 September. You can amend your booking in Manage My Booking, or check best alternative flight solutions for cancelled flights on ba.com.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this challenging situation and get you to where you need to be.
An update on our schedule – 8 September
We're continuing to experience some disruption to flights as a result of the technical issue that affected air traffic control on Tuesday 8 September, which is run by National Air Traffic Control Services. While the issue has now been resolved, there will be a knock-on effect as a number of aircraft and crew across our network remain out of place, which will affect some flights.
Please check the latest status of your flight via Manage My Booking before arriving at the airport. If we have not contacted you directly, then please travel to the airport as planned and arrive for your original departure time.
If your journey includes a connecting flight on the same ticket and a delay means you are at risk of missing your connection, we will automatically rebook your onward travel. Any updates will be available in Manage My Booking.
This is entirely out of our control and we're in touch with our customers while our teams work to get them on their way as quickly as possible.
You can use our chat service to speak directly with a member of our Customer Care team or call us:
