Get a taste of the Wild West with a trip to Phoenix's hilly desert Papago

As you fly into Phoenix you'll see a sprawl of twinkling lights surrounded
by spectacular desert scenery and towering mountain ranges. A haven in the Arizona

watch the sun set over the 'Valley of the Sun' from South Mountain

Return visit
Join hikers on the trail up to 2608-foot-high Piestewa Peak in the Phoenix
Mountains. This is one of the region's most popular hikes and worth
the effort for the panoramic views of Phoenix. See desert life at the Boyce
Thompson Arboretum, home to colourful desert plants and 250 species of
birds. Or if you're a keen golfer, compete on the world-class courses in
Apache Junction.
Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport transports around 42 million passengers a year through its
three terminals. Situated three miles east from Phoenix, a taxi ride downtown takes
just 10–15 minutes.
Free, frequent green and white airport shuttle buses take passengers between
terminals. Bus stops are marked by a green and white Inter-Terminal Bus sign.
Airport parking
Phoenix Airport offers 8,859 parking spaces in terminal garages, economy car parks
and economy garages. Free shuttles ferry passengers to and from the terminals. The
Jackrabbit Bus services the West Economy Lot, Gecko Bus is for stops 1–5
in the East Economy surface car park and the Roadrunner Bus for stops 6–9
in East Economy Garages A & B.
