Sun lovers will be at home in Las Vegas, where the weather is warm for much of the year. While it can be a little cooler over the winter months, summer is normally very hot in Las Vegas. Hotels, shops and casinos will all have air conditioning, to ensure you'll be able to cool down when the weather is warm and you'll find plenty of opportunities to lounge by the pool on summer Las Vegas holidays.
If you enjoy the sun then spring and summer are good times to visit. However, make sure you pack sunscreen - especially if you're thinking of visiting in July or August. Spring is also one of the driest seasons in Las Vegas, making it popular with travellers.
Autumn is normally a little cooler and can be windier, but is still normally dry, and winter is a good time for visitors who like to be active during their breaks , as the weather is a lot cooler than during summer months. It's unusual for Las Vegas to be truly cold, but long trousers and jackets may be needed during the winter months.
Las Vegas was the first place to legalize the casino style of gambling we are familiar with today. The Strip first boomed in 1940 and 1990 saw downtown Las Vegas exploding again. The boulevard continues to thrive with new themed hotels and casinos opening regularly.
