Travelling into Dublin

Known as Dubh Linn, meaning 'black pool', Dublin was initially a Viking settlement. Today, it is the contemporary centre for education and the arts, its history and culture shaping it into the dynamic and colourful heart of Ireland. A mix of Georgian, medieval and cutting-edge modern architecture, Dublin is also renowned for its literary heritage and the Dublin Literary Pub Crawl is an absolute blast.

Travelling into the heart of Dublin

10km north of the city centre, it will cost you around €25 in a taxi from the airport. Buses run often and the Airlink costs €10 return (€6 single), which is a much cheaper option. If you're planning to travel around, look for the Freedom of the City card or a Rambler card, which you can also use to get to and from the airport.

Sightseeing in Dublin

You can't visit Dublin without going to the Guinness Storehouse. Built in 1904, the building was erected to house the Guinness fermentation equipment and is now home to the Guinness shop and museum. Learn how to pull the perfect pint then head up to the Gravity Bar where you'll receive your complimentary drink - the views across the city are not to be missed.
