British Airways is working with The Travel Foundation, a charity that is helping to care for the people and places you love to visit. You too can help protect the natural environment, traditions and culture and the overall the well being of the communities you visit.
Before you go
Consider compensating for the environmental impact of your flight when booking your tickets on ba.com. Your donation will help fund carbon reduction projects such as hydro electric power.
Carbon offsetting
At your destination
- Buy locally made souvenirs or crafts.
- Eat at local bars and cafes.
- Go on excursions that use local guides and drivers.
- Get around on public transport, bicycles or even walking when possible.
- Make sure you don't buy products made from endangered plants or wild animals (including hardwoods, corals, shells, starfish, ivory, fur, feathers, skins, horn, teeth, eggs, reptiles and turtles).
At your accommodation
- Take quick showers instead of baths.
- Ask not to have towels replaced on a daily basis.
- Turn off heating/air conditioning when it's not required and switch everything off when leaving your room.
