When is the cheapest time to fly to Mauritius?
Throughout the year, Mauritius offers a mild tropical maritime climate. The cheapest time to fly to Mauritius is from October to March, which spans part of the humid summer season. January and February are typically the warmest months, while February and March are the wettest months. Luckily, the rain only lasts from few minutes to a few hours, still allowing you plenty of sunshine. Flight prices rise from April through September during the wedding and honeymoon season. How long is the flight from London to Mauritius?
Around 12 hours. You’ll fly direct from London Gatwick (LGW) to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) in Mauritius. British Airways direct flights to Mauritius depart three times a week from March to November and increases to five times a week from November to March. Additional flights, via Johannesburg, South Africa, depart from London Heathrow (LHR).
How do I get from the Mauritius airport to my resort?
Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) is located on the main port island of Mauritius. While the public buses on Mauritius are very affordable, the journey times can be especially long. For a quicker and less stressful journey to your hotel, pre-book an airport transfer before you travel. You can add the door-to-door transfer once you have booked your Mauritius flight or holiday. For more flexibility throughout your entire trip, book a hire car with British Airways. Car hire will allow you to independently explore the scenic island.
Do I need a visa to travel to Mauritius?
If you have a British passport, you won’t need a visa for your Mauritius holidays. You will receive a visitor’s permit upon arrival, which is valid for 60 days. (The same is true for holders of US passports.) Remember to check your passport is in date for your period of travel.
How many bags can I check in?
We offer a generous baggage allowance for your holidays. When you travel in British Airways standard economy (World Traveller), you can check in one bag weighing up to 23kg; if you travel in premium economy (World Traveller Plus), you can check in two 23kg bags. Travelling in business (Club World) will allow you two checked bags at 32kg each, while travelling in First will afford you the luxury of checking three hold bags weighing 32kg each.

Alternatively, choose standard economy and select seats for free 24 hours in advance when online check-in opens.
