If you’re after a relaxed Mediterranean getaway, stay at Hilton Malta. This modern hotel boasts two outdoor pools and a kids’ splash pool. Not to mention, the Merkanti Beach Club provides two pools exclusively for adults. You can also indulge in massages at Myoka Spa or work up a sweat at a spin class. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, savour Mediterranean and Thai dishes at the four restaurants. Little ones are well catered for with kids’ menus, too. Two bars are also thrown into the mix.
Set along the coast of St Julians, Hilton Malta overlooks the bright white yachts in Portomaso Marina and is surrounded by a myriad of restaurants. St George’s Beach and its caramel-coloured sands are half a mile away, while Balluta Bay Beach is just one mile south. Take a dip in this cove’s turquoise waters and relax under the shade of the imposing Knisja tal-Karmnu Church. The island’s capital, Valletta, is also only five miles from the hotel. Head to Oceana for a lavish buffet breakfast of eggs made-to-order, spicy avocado on toast, a full coffee menu, fruit juices, pastries, as well as a doughnut station for kids. For dinner, enjoy Mediterranean favourites and tempting desserts smothered with chocolate. Neba also serves Italian flavours for dinner. Dine among a plethora of olive trees and sample tantalising dishes, like seafood linguine. More classics await at the Aqua Bar during the day. Tuck into salads, burgers or sandwiches in between dips. The refreshing cocktail menu also pairs well with the palm tree surroundings and sea views.
If you’re after something light, visit the Lobby Lounge with stunning sea views, guest DJs and live music (during the summer season). This venue offers pizzas, burgers and seafood, alongside coffee, wine, beer and cocktails. Once the evening hits, the Blue Elephant Restaurant is the place to go for Pad Thais and Mai Tais. Alternatively, retreat to the Quarterdeck Bar, where you can relax on the terrace and relish a daiquiri with marina views. Otherwise, you can request room service for an extra charge.
