Water sports enthusiasts will be in their element herewith complimentary snorkelling, kayaking and pedal boating in the crystal-clear waters. You can also head to the boat house to try windsurfing, water skiing, wake boarding, flyboarding and hoverboarding for a supplementary charge – or visit the resort’s PADI dive centre to book an unforgettable diving experience at the surrounding colourful reefs (available for additional charge).

The resort offers an incredible choice of land-based activities, too, including tennis and volleyball. You can also take a morning jog around the island, swim in two ocean view pools, or visit the gym if you’re feeling particularly energetic. Otherwise, relax during a guided meditation session. Romance is on the cards, too, with sunset cruises, outdoor cinema screenings and couples’ yoga sessions.

Children between the ages of 3 and 12 will be well cared for at PLAY, where trained staff supervise a wealth of cultural and ecological activities, as well as sports, outdoor games and art classes.

In the meantime, adults can luxuriate in the oceanfront spa, which features plunge pools, a sauna and a hammam. Expert therapists will use a range of natural organic products during your personalised treatment, whether you book the signature ‘Aramu Dathuru Massage’ or an authentic ‘Zhengliao Chinese Medicine Treatment’ (available for a supplement charge).

The resort’s focus on sustainability is paramount. The solar panels on the rooftops and out at sea generate enough energy to power all villas during the daytime, and there’s an on-site water plant, vegetable garden and a Junk Art Studio (where you can upcycle items). Single-use plastics have been banned on the island, and you are encouraged to use a bicycle or hop on one of the solar-powered shuttles to get around.
