A quiet, friendly property just outside Funchal, The Residence Porto Mare is a great hotel for self-catering in Madeira. There are leafy grounds with restaurants and bars, plus a selection of indoor and outdoor pools in the wider resort.
The hotel is situated on more than 13,000m2 of property with dedicated gardens. It’s also less than two miles from the centre of Funchal, the largest city on the island. The seafront promenade and a community lido are all that separate you from the Atlantic Ocean, just 100 metres away, and you can enjoy gorgeous sea views at the resort.
The Residence Porto Mare attracts plenty of return visitors, which gives it a real community feel. The apartments are spacious, allowing three or more to comfortably share the rooms. The microwave, fridge and tea and coffee facilities make self-catering a breeze, and there’s a nearby supermarket for all-important milk runs.
