Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa derives its name from once being a private residence in Johannesburg. It consisted of 11 acres of stables and beautiful rolling lawns. Today, the combination of nature and birdlife makes it the ideal setting for a hotel in the epicenter of the city. In keeping with the natural aura, the Balinese Spa Garden promotes the principles of holistic healing in a pampered environment. Hydrotherapy treatments, dining pavilions, and outdoor massage areas are some of the highlights. When you are not reveling in the tranquil aspects of the gardens or the spa, the Terrace Restaurant serves international and local dishes with only the freshest ingredients. In winter, a large fireplace sets a placid mood in the restaurant. The colonial bar has received many awards from the Diners Club and is the perfect place to have a cognac.

Directions from Johannesburg: Route - Ben Schoeman Highway (M1), towards Pretoria (approximately 15 kilometers / 20 minutes). Pass the Wynberg exit. Turn off at the Marlboro exit. Turn left at the traffic lights at the end of the exit, down to the next set of traffic lights at the T-junction. (The name changes from Katherine Avenue on the left, to Bowling Avenue on the right of the T-junction). Turn right into Katherine Avenue. Carry on straight through another two sets of traffic lights and immediately after the second turn left into Alma Road. (Note that the Alma Road sign is on the right-hand side of the road, but there is a Fairlawns sign and an Ernest Ullman Park sign on the left). Drive 500 meters down Alma Road where the road will curve and guests will see FAIRLAWNS on the right-hand side. Turn right into the hotel.
