There are three on-site pools waiting to be enjoyed.

The adult pool is surrounded by elegant white umbrellas and sun loungers and treats you to views of lush rainforests and the vast Andaman Sea. Meanwhile, there is a family pool and toddler pool available too.

Families will also adore the soft sands on the shore of Datai Bay – perfect for little ones to build their sandcastles.

Alternatively, adults can retreat into a world of tempting treatments ranging from facials and massages to soothing reflexology. Strategically tucked away amid the rainforest, the hotel’s spa is the epitome of relaxation. Don’t miss sampling their signature rituals such as the seven spices ritual. Let spicy superstars like nutmeg, star anise and cinnamon, as well as a sauna and oil massage send you into a blissful trance.

For more active pursuits, head to the 18-hole golf course designed by Ernie Els. The stunning rainforest backdrop and manicured golf course offers the perfect place to practise your swing. You can also take to the seas and have a go at sailing or snorkelling. The diverse jungle surroundings offer serene nature walks. Wander through the evergreen landscape with a specialist guide and discover the value of this precious ecosystem which Sunda flying lemurs and tokay geckos call their homes.

The four restaurants on offer mean there are plenty of spots to enjoy meals.

For all-day dining, head to The Dining Room, where Malaysian cuisine and classics are waiting to be enjoyed indoors and outdoors. Start the day with continental pancakes or scrambled eggs. For lunch and dinner, you can tuck into juicy Angus steaks or tantalise your tastebuds with Char Kway Teow – a dish with wok-fried noodles and king prawns.

If you desire beach scenery, dine at The Beach Club. Sea views, close proximity to the pool and a range of pastas as well as Asian delicacies make this a tempting choice for meals. Don’t miss the all-day cocktail menu with signature creations like The Butterfly which uses elderflower, vermouth and yuzu syrup for a refreshing flavour.

When night descends, head up to The Pavilion. This venue is tucked away above the forest canopy and overlooks the soothing green landscape. Savour traditional Thai cuisine like tiger prawns in coconut sauce and wash it down with a tipple like ‘When in Datai’ from their cocktail menu. The Gulai House is also open for dinner and offers an equally natural ambience. You can sample Malaysian and Indian inspired dishes like Murgh Makhani – creamy butter chicken.

The Lobby Lounge is the resort’s in-house bar. Enjoy drinks, wine, champagne and snacks with a panoramic Andaman Sea view. You can also treat yourself to an afternoon tea, which features indulgent Ronnefeldt teas.

Beachwear and swimwear in the restaurants or bars is not permitted and cover-ups must be worn during the day whilst dining at The Beach Club.

Men should wear knee-length shorts in the restaurants, bars or public areas and sleeveless tops are not permitted.

In The Dining Room, long trousers and collared shirts, as well as closed shoes must be worn.
