On the property, unwind around one of the three swimming pools. The main Beach Pool is ideal for families since it’s home to a Roman aqueduct-themed water slide, a sandy beach, poolside activities, a children’s pool and two whirlpools. The other two pools maintain a more tranquil, adult vibe: there’s the more exclusive Villa Pool where you can hire private cabanas, and the lush Hillside Pool which is quietly tucked away on the edge of the property (although it remains close to the hotel facilities).

Health conscious visitors can make use of the hotel’s extensive walking and jogging paths.

Everyone can look forward to the nightly Musica della Notte performances (weather permitting), whereby classical opera is sung live in the harbourside piazza.

Dining mainly revolves around Italian cuisine at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. Trattoria del Porto is a full-service restaurant which serves a buffet breakfast, followed by Italian inspired dishes for lunch and dinner. You can dine indoors or head outside to admire views across the scenic bay.

Stop by Sal's Market Deli to dine on Italian staples such as home-made pizzas and delicatessen sandwiches. There are marble-topped booths inside and a picnic area outside on the piazza. Otherwise, try out the Splendido Bar & Grill where you can order a wide range of drinks and classic bar food such as nachos, wings and burgers. Mama Della's Ristorante provides a homely, casual setting with wandering musicians. The a la carte menu here features classic Italian fare, with a wide choice of pasta dishes. The more elegant Bice Ristorante offers Italian fine-dining and specialises in Northern Italian cuisine. The full menu lists tempting antipasti, salads, and home-made pasta dishes – as well as a selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian options. If you have room, indulge in delicious desserts, handcrafted by the pastry chef.

At Gelateria, relish artisan ice creams, milkshakes and biscotti. You can also order hot drinks and snacks at the Caffe Espresso, located next door. Later, watch the sun set over the harbour at The Thirsty Fish wine bar, admiring the twinkling harbour lights and listening to live music (available on some evenings). A full menu is also available via the 24-hour room service.
