Famed for its prestigious golf courses, the Dona Filipa Hotel lies in the Algarve’s desirable Vale do Lobo resort. Situated just 450 metres away from the beach, the property overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and features an outdoor pool, tennis courts and access to San Lorenzo and Pinheiros Altos golf courses. The comfortable rooms vary in terms of size and design. Classic rooms are decorated in traditional Portuguese style with terracotta floor tiles, wooden furnishings and floral fabrics. In comparison, Premium rooms are more spacious and contemporary, with earthy colour palates and gold accents. Designed by American Architect Joseph Lee, the 18-hole San Lorenzo Golf Course is one of the most renowned courses in the entire Algarve region. The hotel’s courtesy shuttle bus will transport you to this impeccable course and privileged access also applies to the 27-hole Pinheiros Altos golf course.
Aside from golf, the hotel offers two floodlit tennis courts, a dedicated children’s play area and a seasonal kids’ club (for children between 3 and 12 years of age). The hotel's swimming pool area boasts views across the Atlantic Ocean and offers a heated pool and two sun decks complete with sun loungers. During the summer months, you can make the most of poolside service.
Although the Vale de Lobo beach is public, there is a dedicated beach area, which is exclusively reserved for hotel guests. In the summer months, the hotel beach club provides complimentary sun beds, parasols, and beach towels – as well as beverage and snack service.
The on-site Dolce Deluxe Spa promotes a range of specialised therapies and beauty treatments. You can also use the additional spa facilities at the Vale do Lobo Royal Spa, located about 500 metres from the Dona Filipa Hotel. This includes a sauna, Turkish hammam, swimming pool and steam room.

Dona Filipa Hotel has two main restaurants. Kamal Restaurant is a contemporary dining venue that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. The buffet breakfasts here include hot and cold options, followed by light lunches and snacks. Themed buffet dinners feature a choice of Portuguese and international dishes and include barbeque buffet and fisherman’s buffet nights.
Dom Duarte Restaurant is a fine dining affair. Open for dinner, the restaurant specialises in delicious fusion cuisine, based on traditional Mediterranean recipes.
For afternoon refreshments or pre-dinner cocktails, head to the elegant Duques Lounge Bar. Otherwise, The Pool Bar promises sea views and signature cocktails.
