Barcelo Margaritas is a resort style hotel, situated in a popular area of Gran Canaria. It has a selection of facilities, a buffet restaurant with theme nights and two pools.
The hotel is located in the south of Gran Canaria, in the tourist area of Playa del Ingles – with many restaurants, shops and nightlife just a short stroll away. Playa del Inglés beach in located less than a mile away and the free shuttle takes around ten-minutes or you can take a leisuerly 30 minute walk. Gran Canaria Airport is 20 miles away and the capital city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is 36 miles way. Visit Yumbo Centre, which boasts over 200 shops or stop at the cosy cafes and market at Centro Comercial San Fernando, which is 700 metres away. Nature Canariensis Botanical Gardens, Wild West Theme Park and Sioux City Park are all nearby fun attractions. Enjoy the areas impressive Dunes at Maspalomas – you’ll feel like you’re in a desert film set as you cross the yellow sands. Local art museum Casa Saturninita features architecture and photography and is well worth a visit. Maspalomas Golf Course is one and a half miles away for golf enthusiasts too.
Barcelo Margaritas sits amongst tropical gardens. The light and airy rooms have parquet flooring, a balcony and a sofa bed – as well as rainfall showers and hairdryers in the bathroom. Some overlook the pool, which can be noisy at peak times of the day. A safe is available at a charge. Upgrade to the apartments for more space and cooking facilities, they are located in an annex building.

The resort has two spacious pools, one which hosts activities such as water polo and aqua gym. If the pool isn’t for you, take the free shuttle bus to the Playa del Ingles beach. Younger guests will love the kids’ club and daily activities including an entertainment stage with live music, competitions and more. Adults can relax in the sauna or on the sun deck. A choice of beauty treatments is also available – book yourself in for a chocolate massage or facial. Play petanque, table tennis and tennis, or enjoy a workout with a personal trainer. The gym has exercise bikes, running machines, a rower and weight machines too.

There is a full buffet provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with show-cooking and theme nights a couple of times a week too. Family friendly offerings include pizza, pasta and large breakfasts. Those looking for an a la carte menu can dine in the second restaurant, overlooking the garden, at an additional cost, reservations are required. The two pool bars serve drinks, as well as a selection of snack food – ranging from sandwiches to ice cream. Head to Aloha bar for snacks during the afternoon, one of a choice of four bars, which serves food from 10:00 each day. There are also two grills on the terrace at Aloha 37, ready to cook you up a delectable dinner.
