The resort’s impressive sports facilities include an impressive football field, multiple tennis and paddle courts, a basketball court and a 9-hole mini-golf course. Down on the sand, you can also enjoy a game of beach volleyball or beach tennis with three dedicated courts. Take to the water with windsurfing and snorkelling also available for a supplementary fee.

Back on land, take up archery, play a game of ping pong, join an aqua aerobics class or chill out with a dip in the Olympic-sized pool. For a supplementary charge, hire a bike to the explore the local area or book a specialist course at the Tanka Bike School. Keep the energy up with a workout in the resort’s fully equipped gym (for a supplementary charge). Practise your poses in the soft gym and dive in with aqua aerobics or an aerobic workout. There’s also plenty of space to stretch after. A resort train runs around the resort as scheduled times, and a discounted shuttle service is available to the nearby golf course. Plus, the concierge team can also book excursions and boat trips for a supplementary charge.

Children have their own activity clubs and a freshwater paddling pool. The complimentary kids’ clubs, run by childcare professionals, cater for children between the ages of 3 and 17 years. Little ones can happily play indoors or outdoors, or participate in supervised sports, dancing, creative crafts and team games. Teenagers can hang out at the Young Club, which provides sports and entertainment programmes, as well as a hub with a TV, video games and Wi-Fi. There’s also a specialist nursery for babies (aged 0 to 2 years) and the Cagliari Football Club Summer School (for juniors between 5 and 13 years), both of which are subject to reservations and additional charges. In the evenings, the whole family can watch colourful shows and musicals in the open-air theatre.

Take things down a notch with the Tanka Spa. Set in the verdant gardens, it’s a peaceful oasis enhanced by three hydromassage pools, a sauna, a Turkish bath, a relaxation area and sensory showers. You can book a variety of treatments for an additional charge − including shiatsu and Ayurveda massages, soothing facials and beauty treatments. Breezy beach days keep things relaxed, too, and you’ll find Simius Beach swathed in fine white sand, gently sloping towards the shore. It is the perfect place for relaxed beach games, scenic strolls and gentle water swimming. You can rent sunbeds, deck chairs and parasols at the beach for an extra cost – simply book in advance or on site.

Breakfast options are thoughtfully woven into each area of the resort, with the Domus cafeteria serving guests staying in the Domus rooms, and The Suites Cafeteria offering an easy, close-to-home option for those in suite accommodation. The Deluxe Lounge in the Tanka Selected area also serves exclusive themed brunch-style breakfasts for those staying in Tanka Selected rooms.

Close to the beach, the contemporary Oasys is the resort’s main relaxed buffet restaurant. Dishing up a roster of spreads in a bright, air-conditioned space, there’s themed dinners in the evenings and a dedicated children’s dining area hosted by the animation team. Over by the spa, Pizzeria offers table-service lunches and dinner by reservation, while a leafy pergola between the pool and the shore hosts the casual Poke & Burger spot – perfect for easy midday bites. Near the central square, Mirto Restaurant offers a more polished buffet experience with bottled drinks served tableside and is included for guests staying in the Domus rooms. Situated above this spot, the elevated Mitro Terrace adds sea views and an elegant spread of local and global dishes to the mix.

Stella di Mare Restaurant delivers beachfront dining under a charming wooden pergola. Open-air and opulent, this eatery specialises in fresh seafood, grilled dishes and big barbecues – dine here by reservation and supplement. Evenings take a livelier turn at Ke Spettacolo Restaurant, were you’ll find dinner blending with lilting live music and entertainment. Swing by the resort’s ice cream shop for sweet scoops of gelato, smoothies and juicy fruit, too.

At the heart of it all, Central Bar La Piazzetta stays open throughout the day for refreshments. Meanwhile, along the shoreline, The Nettuno Bar and Notteri Kiosk offer easy food and drinks by the water, with the latter only open during peak season. In the Tanka Selected area, The Deluxe Lounge Bar overlooks the pool and is reserved for guests staying in these exclusive room categories. Elsewhere, The Domus Cafe provides a relaxed spot near the lobby for light bites and fresh pours, while the The Botanico Cafe lights up the night with tunes, signature sips and a billiards table beside the pool. For late nights, The Giardino dei Sapori awaits with aperitifs, more live music, breezy bar service and disco lights.
