Overview
The Waldorf Astoria Orlando offers top-end facilities in a hard-to-beat location, just a stone’s throw away from the Disney parks – with early entry. The hotel’s 18-hole at the Rees Jones-designed championship golf course has its own brasserie, and the pool has private cabanas, where attentive staff fetch you cocktails. You may want to head to the nearby Waldorf Astoria Spa instead, checking out its Himalayan salt cave or indulging in a cayenne pepper and ginger anti-inflammatory massage. While you’re relaxing, you won’t have to worry about the little ones either, as kids’ clubs run throughout the day.
The Waldorf Astoria Orlando is situated within a 482-acre nature preserve and is surrounded on three sides by Disney’s parks – it’s no surprise it’s one of the luxury hotels closest to all the action. As an official Walt Disney World Hotel, you’ll get complimentary transport to all the parks, including the likes of Epcot and Magic Kingdom seven miles away. You can also hop aboard a shuttle for a 2.5-mile journey to shop at Disney Springs. It’s just 20 miles from Orlando International Airport.
Guest rooms are spacious sanctuaries, in muted tones and complete with lavish Frette sheets and marble-bath finishings, all nodding to the art deco theme that runs through the hotel. Every room has a separate shower and soaking tub. While some overlook Disney’s evening fireworks display, others’ views stretch over its championship golf course. If you’re after something extra special, book into one of its suites, which include breakfast and use of private poolside cabanas.

Other facilities
The Championship Rees Jones-designed course includes some of the best elements of every championship course from the past 100 years with carefully design touches, like cypress trees lining its fairways and a five-tee system to accommodate golfers of every calibre.
The full-service Waldorf Astoria Spa features signature treatments using locally produced honey. The spa is also one of a handful of luxury US resorts housing a Himalayan salt cave. The hotel’s signature cabana pool offers cabanas (depending on room type) that include a flat-screen TV, fans, snacks, and drinks. It's best to pre-book.
Keep trim at its 372 m2 fitness centre and use some of the latest equipment including Peloton bikes. There are also plenty of jogging and biking trails on site – bikes can be hired for a local charge.
Children also enjoy access to the lazy river and waterslides at the neighbouring Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. Meanwhile, the on-site kids’ clubs (from age 2 to 12 years old) run morning, afternoon and evening sessions and offer anything from crafts to beginners scuba for a fee. There’s even an after dark club (until 21:00) meaning parents can try the legendary Bull and Bear, while kids toast marshmallows under the stars. Gather afterwards in time to watch the nightly Disney fireworks light up the sky.
Dining information
Begin your day with breakfast at Oscar’s, where gourmet eggs benedict and cold-pressed juices are served alongside an opulent buffet. Otherwise, grab La Colombe coffees, pastries and sandwiches to-go at Park Avenue Café.
Throughout the day, grab casual fare, snacks, and cocktails at the poolside Aquamarine. For those out on the green, food and drinks are available at the 19th hole at Clubhouse Grille. Then for dinner choose from casual plates and charcuteries at the indulgent Art Deco-style Peacock Alley, or head to Bull & Bear Steakhouse. Admire handsome wood panelling and views of the pool and golf course, whilst you savour steak and seafood. Don’t miss out on its iconic fried chicken and chateaubriand for two. Otherwise, opt for the jacket potato, caviar and gold leaf.
You’ll find additional dining options available at Signia by Hilton Orlando. This includes contemporary Italian cuisine at La Luce, Pan Asian at Zeta Asia, light bites and drinks at Myth Bar, al fresco poolside fare at Beech and coffee, tea and sweet treats at the 24-hour Muse.
