Nestled in a quiet corner of Riva del Garda, Hotel Antico Borgo is a little slice of modern Italian charm. This hidden gem shines with cobbled streets at its doorstep and mountains rising in the distance. Inside, it’s all about unfussy elegance and warm hospitality. You’ll find a laid-back eatery serving up leisurely breakfasts and delicious dinners, as well as a chic bar made for relaxing with an evening spritz. A rooftop sun terrace offers space to unwind, while the round-the-clock reception makes for a seamless stay. Just a short stroll to the sparkling northern shores of Lake Garda and the enchanting Old Town, this boutique retreat is a dream for couples or solo travellers.
Quaint, walkable and effortlessly Italian, a stay at Hotel Antico Borgo puts you right in the heart of it all. Just 200-metres from Piazza III Novembre, you’ll find yourself in the midst of Riva del Garda. Lose track of time along winding streets, in boutique shops or at one of the darling cafes. Look up, and you’ll spot Torre Apponale, a medieval tower with stunning views – if you’re up for the climb. If you’re craving more culture, the majestic lakefront fortress of La Rocca di Riva sits just 500 metres away, offering storybook scenery and audio tours. Take a stroll along the harbour and Fraglia Vela Riva – 550 metres away – where yachts bob on the water and the lake stretches out before you. There are plenty of scenic spots to grab a bite, too. If you’re feeling adventurous, take a day trip to Trento, 31 miles away. Think grand piazzas, more medieval castles and a museum complete with an indoor tropical waterfall. Valerio Catullo Airport is approximately 51 miles away.
The interiors embrace understated sophistication. Soft neutrals, crisp whites and sleek blond wood touches keep things light, airy and inviting. Rooms are clean and modern, yet warm, with some featuring plush sofas for lounging, and others opening out onto private balconies – perfect for a quiet morning coffee. A few spaces are brought to life with striking artwork from wistful Jack Vettriano pieces to bold modern prints – adding a touch of personality. If you fancy a little extra room to stretch out, upgrade to a Junior Suite and request a furnished balcony or terrace for soaking up that Italian sunshine in style.
