On Rethymno's long sandy beach, just across the road, you’ll find complimentary sunbeds, umbrellas and shower facilities. You can make the most of free beachside service, with a selection of refreshing drinks and snacks, and immerse yourself in the calm waters of the Aegean Sea. You can also unwind around one of two freshwater swimming pools, including one with dazzling sea views. Children have their own paddling pool, too, and there’s an additional indoor-outdoor heated pool at the spa.

The contemporary Plaza Spa is a temple of relaxation, painted in calming shades of blue. Discover a rejuvenating range of therapies and massages here, available for a supplementary charge, or spend time in the relaxation area, sauna or hammam. There’s also a beauty salon, specialising in hair and nail treatments, and a modern fitness centre.

The hotel provides a variety of recreational activities, too. You can rent bikes to explore the destination (for an additional charge), revel in beachside games and play table tennis or boccia. Complimentary fitness classes are also on offer, covering morning gymnastics, water gym, aerobics and aqua aerobics. Children are invited to the Grecoland kids’ club, a supervised entertainment programme for children aged 4 to 12 years. Younger children can enjoy games, competitions and creative activities, whilst teenagers participate in sports and beach games. Children under the age of four years are also welcome to use the Grecoland facilities with adult supervision. 

Dining information

The family-friendly Plaza Restaurant serves buffet breakfasts and a la carte meals for lunch. The restaurant is light and airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame spectacular views across the beach and Aegean Sea. In the mornings, you can savour farm-fresh dishes from the extensive buffet spread, and head to the Cretan corner for local products such as honey, fresh pastries and herbal teas. The a la carte menu focuses on traditional Cretan cuisine, and the dishes are cooked using local olive oils and vegetables, produced at Grecotel's Agreco Farm. There’s also a special children’s menu, which features a healthy selection of dishes.

For refreshments, head to the elevated Sunset Pool Café, overlooking the pool and seafront. You can order fresh juices, fruity smoothies and a variety of cocktails here.

Additional information

Swimwear should be covered at breakfast and lunch, and there is a smart casual dress code in the evening. You cannot wear beachwear or shorts at dinner, and gentlemen are expected to wear long trousers in all restaurants.
