Overview
The all-inclusive Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa sits along the shores of the Riviera Maya, on Mexico’s breathtaking Yucatán Peninsula. Set within an unspoiled tropical landscape, this beachfront resort entices couples and families alike. It offers an array of facilities, all-day activities and evening entertainment. During your stay, you can enjoy a generous variety of restaurants and shared facilities at the two adjoining sister resorts – the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa and the Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa. This includes the on-site kids’ club, spa and a selection of freshwater pools.
This family-friendly resort faces the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea and boasts direct access to a long stretch of white sand beach. If you walk close to the beachside, through the lush mangrove forest, you’ll reach a secluded area with a natural saltwater pool and coral reef. The resort is situated within a huge four-hotel complex; but you can easily get around by hopping on the complimentary shuttle train or riding in a resort golf buggy. Although you might prefer to stay within the resort, you can always visit the sustainable Xel-Ha water park, just over ten miles away, or explore the ancient Mayan ruins and beautiful beaches of Tulum, less than 21 miles from the resort. The lively centre of Cancun is around 61 miles away, and Cancun International Airport lies around 53 miles from the property.
The hotel’s spacious rooms are decorated in a Spanish Caribbean style, with warm tones, wooden furnishings, patterned bed runners and tiled marble floors. Each bathroom features a hydromassage bathtub, and rooms lead to a private balcony or terrace. As part of the all-inclusive offering, you’ll also have a complimentary in-room minibar, replenished daily. Deluxe rooms are situated close to the restaurants and overlook the lush mangrove forest. Junior Suites are located nearer to the beach and main swimming pool. They are larger in size, with an open-plan bedroom and living area.

Other facilities
With a choice of four freshwater swimming pools, you can find a new sunbathing spot each day. The huge main pool dominates the centre of the hotel grounds. It has a family-friendly atmosphere and faces the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by rows of sun loungers and umbrellas. Meanwhile, adults can head to the El Secreto hydromassage pool, where the tropical flora and fauna create a peaceful environment. This pool features an in-built whirlpool, sunken sun loungers and a swim-up bar. There’s also a pirate-themed water park for children, outfitted with slides and sprinklers. The other pools are located at the two sister resorts.
Take a scenic stroll towards the beach, where you’ll find a sprinkling of palm trees, palapa huts, sun loungers and umbrellas. In between sunbathing, you can order cocktails from the beach bar or play on the resort’s three volleyball courts. You can also cool off in the shallow waters or take part in a variety of non-motorised water sports, ranging from snorkelling to windsurfing. You can take a paddle boat out on the water for free, or embark on excursions and learn scuba diving for a supplement charge.
At the sports centre, you can participate in a range of activities, such as football, darts and petanque. There are separate tennis, badminton and basketball courts, in addition to a multi-sports field, a mini-golf course, an archery range and a shooting range. The impressive Zentropia Palladium Spa & Wellness centre lies nearby, giving you the opportunity to soothe tired muscles. It’s decorated in a traditional Mayan style, and features its own state-of-the-art hydrotherapy area, complete with a pool, sauna, hot tub and vapour baths. Once you have booked and paid for a treatment, you can enjoy a day's complimentary access to the spa’s hydrotherapy areas (hot tubs, pool, sauna and steam baths), although all treatments incur a supplementary charge and require reservation. A modern gym is available for those looking to work out.
The resort offers a full programme of daytime activities, including dance classes, fitness classes, language lessons and competitions. You can enjoy a scenic pontoon boat ride around the extensive lake, located at the Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa, and catch evening shows at the theatre. There are also designated wildlife areas around the resort complex. Children (aged between 4 and 12 years) can spend time at the exciting kids’ club – which promotes eco tours and conservation classes – while teenagers head to the Black & White Juniors Club. There’s also a Baby Club, where little ones from 1 to 3 years old can receive expert childcare for an additional charge.
