Overview

Exuding exclusivity, Cap St Georges Hotel and Resort is a luxurious gated resort in a dramatic seafront setting. Families, couples, singles and explorers alike can revel in the diversity of accommodation and facilities, which includes gourmet eateries, an ice cream parlour, table tennis tournaments, cheese making excursions and luxuriant massages in the spa. Featuring rustic Cypriot and modern architecture, the hotel and its stylish pools nestle within manicured gardens dotted with ancient olive trees. What’s more, every staff member here is helpful and knowledgeable making this a truly dreamy holiday in Cyprus.

Cap St Georges Hotel and Resort is located on the southwest coast of Cyprus bordering Akamas National Park – a wild peninsula known for its sandy bays, rugged sea caves and forests. The hotel sits elevated above Kafizis beach, one mile from quaint Agios Georgios and five miles from the town of Peyia, where you’ll find essential amenities. The ancient city of Paphos, often praised as the birthplace of Aphrodite, is just 12 miles south. From here uncover ancient amphitheatres and mosaics at the UNESCO Paphos Archaeological Park, journey through the Tombs of the Kings or simply breathe in the coastal charm. Paphos International Airport is 20 miles away.

Perched within 580 m2 of landscaped gardens, rooms and suites here are surrounded by idyllic paths, centuries old olive trees and mostly sea views. The interior design is tasteful with understated elegant furnishings, crisp white linens and stylish references to Cypriot culture — such as artwork and sculptures. Generous bathrooms, adorned in marble, have a decadent stand up bathtub, with a grand circular window bringing in natural light. The cherry on top is the floor to ceiling windows which fill the room with natural light and give way to stunning cinematic views. Each room has a sofa bed for additional space, though families can opt for Interconnecting Family Suites offering separate sleeping areas. An upgrade to a Residence room gives you additional space and a grand balcony, some of which have a private pool.

Dining information

Each restaurant uses ingredients sourced from the hotel’s own garden ‘Perivoli’ – which supplies citrus fruits, herbs and organic vegetables. Start your day with a breakfast fit for a king at Yeronisos, browse through the rainbow of fruits, towers of breads and pastries paired with local jams and honeys – all elaborately laid on the gold marble buffet station. Grab an omelette from the live cooking station, with eggs sourced fresh from the hotel’s own chickens. Whilst you eat admire the tree inspired pillars indoors or enjoy the sounds of the Mediterranean on the terrace.

Lunch is best taken under the canopy of olive trees at Mesoyios, sample curated Cypriot dishes and crisp local wines while appreciating the panoramic sea views. For dinner Mesoyios plates up Mediterranean classics, while Sapori (an authentic Italian trattoria) delivers hearty Italian fare laden with truffle, rosemary and pesto. Grown-ups will revel in the remarkable dishes at Bonsai, admire the chefs teppanyaki skills, sample excellent sushi and sip on the finest sake. A treasure on the seventh floor, Sky7 hosts special evenings on select weekends, with guest Michelin star chefs – a true fine dining experience with breathtaking sunsets. Make sure you check ahead for schedule and availability.

Throughout the day cocktails, snacks and refreshments are served in the bars and lounges. For poolside sustenance there’s Thalassa Pool Bar and on the beach there’s Kohili Beach Bar (summer only) boasting comfy beanbags, fruity cocktails and DJ sets till late in the evening. The grandiose Chroma Lounge and Lobby bar parades a dramatic black marble bar, a show-stopping chandelier and a raised grand piano. Indulge in their cocktails and champagnes and peruse the loose tea and caviar menus. For adults and children alike, Gelato invites with ice creams, crepes, cakes, pastries and artisan coffees.
