You’ll spend many blissful hours around the hotel’s magnificent 42-metre infinity pool, which is situated on the edge of the lagoon. Here you’re well-placed to experience the ocean horizon and glorious sunsets. Grab a complimentary bicycle and take a ride across the breathtaking one-kilometre bridge, connecting Dhigurah with its sister resort on the neighbouring Falhumaafushi Island.

Children from 3-12 years old are well taken care of at Turtle Kids’ Club. It features an expansive outdoor play area with a variety of playground equipment and offers nature, arts and crafts activities led by friendly and professionally trained staff. The teens programme is packed full of age-appropriate activities including water polo, island tour by bike, archery and kayaking, as well as a residence bridge run and boot camp.

The on-site PADI 5-Star Dive Centre provides guided diving and snorkelling trips in addition to a range of PADI courses including Scuba Diver, Adventure Diver and Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver. Diving equipment and accessories are available to rent or buy otherwise. You can also access exciting water sports ranging from snorkelling and kayaking to windsurfing and parasailing at the Water Sports Centre. Snorkelling equipment is available for loan here.

Aside from the water activities is the fitness centre. It’s filled with plenty of running and weight training equipment and is surrounded by lush, tropical gardens. Set between waving palms and enveloped by the calm sound of the waves is the stunning Clarins spa. It offers a comprehensive and bespoke menu of holistic wellness treatments and retreats, designed to soothe and revitalise every part of your being. Six treatments rooms built over the water provide a cocoon of privacy with uninterrupted ocean views – a heavenly way to relax and rejuvenate.

Other activities to fill your time include deep-sea fishing trips, night snorkelling and fluoro night diving, sunset dolphin cruises, underwater digital photography courses and excursions to other islands and local villages (at an extra charge).

Dining information

Overlooking the lagoon is the resort’s main restaurant, The Dining Room. It’s open and airy and is fitted with a stunning thatched roof. Enjoy a leisurely buffet breakfast of fruits, cereals and pastries, as well as lavish Asian, Indian, Maldivian and international dishes. At the pool’s edge is Cafe del Sol serving a selection of burgers, pizzas, pastas and tapas while Li Bai offers modern Cantonese fare, with authentic dishes such as dim sum, fresh seafood and succulent meats taking centre stage. It’s surrounded by lush vegetation and is a great restaurant to head to for dinner. For Italian, head to The Long Island or for the perfect place to chill out and to savour a cocktail from your lounger, try The Beach Club. The area spans the pool, The Beach Bar and Cafe del Sol where sunsets and the house DJ provide the soundtrack for winding down. Private dining can be arranged for special occasions, either under the stars for two or a family picnic on the beach, otherwise you can pick your own harvests from the resort’s vegetable garden and prepare lunch with the guidance of the chef at the Earth Table.
