Makarska Sunny Resort is a superb family-orientated hotel, positioned beside a beautiful beach in southern Croatia. Embark on a daytrip in Split, 40 miles north, where you can easily spend hours wandering the Old Town’s maze of streets and cobblestoned lanes that surround Diocletian’s Palace. Split Airport is approximately 50 miles away.
Nestled within an ancient olive grove, several low-rise, white-washed buildings and nine pavilions house bright and modern rooms – some feature a furnished balcony. They are decorated in a neutral colour scheme, brightened by splashes of yellow and teal from the soft furnishings. There’s a flat-screen satellite TV and Wi-Fi is free. Eggs are made to order, while soups, salads, sandwiches, wok dishes, burgers, tortillas and hot dogs await you at the brunch stations. Its themed evenings include Burger Day, fish and chips, Mediterranean fare and Italian cuisine.
Valfresco Grab&Go 24/7, as the name suggests, opens 24-hours a day for a selection of snacks, drinks and desserts in the lobby. Meanwhile, Grano Duro plates up Italian specialities including pizza and pasta.
