Los Felices Ibiza is a fashion-led, boutique property that oozes cool vibes – perfect for party people. The hotel is positioned on Ibiza’s western coast, in the lively resort of San Antonio – known for its bars, restaurants and nightclubs. The laid-back beaches of Playa Pinet and Playa Xinxo are less than a mile away, while the most beautiful beaches of Cala Conta and Cala Bassa are within five miles, offering incredibly clear, turquoise waters and soft, pale golden sand. Around eleven miles east is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ibiza Old Town, fortified by ancient walls and home to the Castell d’Eivissa (Ibiza Castle), many museums and galleries, as well as plenty of restaurants, gift shops and high-end boutiques. A further eight miles north of Ibiza Old Town is the Hippy Market at Punta Arabi. It’s one of the oldest handicraft markets in Ibiza, held every Wednesday, selling everything from clothes, food, jewellery and souvenirs. Ibiza Airport is approximately 12 miles away.
You would be forgiven for thinking you’ve stepped back in time when you enter the hotel, as every area pays tribute to 60s and 70s design. The lobby desk is presented as a pair of rose-tinted sunglasses, mustard-coloured tiled flooring and wall fretwork are used liberally, and the ceiling is fitted with wooden beams. This style continues to dominate in the rooms, where guest designers create a look befitting to them. Bright colours are used in abundance, glamorously decorated using retro furniture including a curved cocktail bar and bar stools, a Bakelite phone and a Marshall speaker. It’s not surprising, given the party credentials of the hotel, that the star attraction is the pool area. It’s undeniably striking, oozing cool vibes from both the sherbet pink and dazzling yellow pools. They are surrounded by bright sun loungers and striped, scalloped edge umbrellas; private cabanas can also be hired. Between the pools is a raised parasol shaped DJ booth, keeping the music playing throughout the day. As the sun sets, crowds gather to experience live gigs, performed directly from the poolside in a futuristic spaceship-inspired pod.
For those looking for respite, head to Les Fleurs Boutique, displaying vintage pieces from various collaborating brands and designers. Otherwise, stop by the Fashionteque to browse a carefully curated selection of fashion magazines and books.
Dining information
The Palms Pool Club is at the heart of the vibrant pool area, open every day from late morning until early evening. Salads, sharing platters and club sandwiches are hard to resist, accompanied with cocktails, sangria and beers. Champagne is also on the menu, as are soothing smoothies and non-alcoholic drinks.
Decorated as vibrantly as the rest of the hotel is Bambola, the hotel’s Italian restaurant. Yellow features heavily here, teamed with pink velvet scalloped edge chairs and a diner-inspired bar for quick bites. On the menu are gluten-free, authentic Italian pizzas, served directly from the wood fired oven, including favourites such as margherita and calzone. Save room for dolci – tiramisu and Nutella pizza are crowd pleasers.
