Overview

Set along one of the Dominican Republic’s finest beaches, Secrets Royal Beach is an upscale, all-inclusive retreat for adults only. The resort’s all-inclusive privileges include limitless gourmet dining, top-shelf spirits and sophisticated suites with private hydromassage bathtubs. You can spend days relaxing on the beach, taking up water sports and luxuriating at the on-site spa. You can also enjoy daily activities and live entertainment, or simply lounge by the four pools – like the expansive freeform pool that overlooks the turquoise Caribbean Sea.

Secrets Royal Beach sits on the Dominican Republic’s paradisical eastern coast, surrounded by white-sand beaches, swaying palm trees and calm tropical waters. The property offers direct access to the picturesque Bavaro Beach, where you can enjoy romantic strolls, adrenaline-fuelled water sports and memorable snorkelling trips. You can freely access the facilities at the neighbouring sister resort, Dreams Royal Beach, or tee off at one of the local golf clubs. The closest course is at the Cocotal Golf and Country Club, around two miles from the resort, while the 18-hole Punta Blanca Golf Course is less than six miles away. From the resort, it’s around a 25-minute drive to Punta Cana International Airport.

The hotel’s spacious suites all feature a sitting area, a full marble bathroom, a complimentary minibar and a private balcony or terrace with a hydromassage tub. They are decorated in a contemporary style, with tasteful furnishings, elegant pendant lights and stretches of wood panelling. Some suites afford views of the Caribbean Sea, Swim-up Junior Suites enjoy direct access to a shared pool and select Junior Suites come with a private pool. Those looking to experience an even higher level of luxury should choose a Preferred Club Suite to enjoy special concierge service and exclusive access to two lounges and two club pools, including a fabulous lazy river pool set close to the beach.

The main freeform pool winds through the manicured gardens, surrounded by sun loungers and parasols. Another pool lies close to the beachfront, complete with a swim-up bar, and you can uwind in the relaxation pool, or in any of the four outdoor whirlpools, too. There’s also a separate pool area for those staying in Preferred Club Suites, comprising a lazy river which connects to a breathtaking infinity pool. Two lounges are also offered exclusive for Preferred Club guests.

Take a stroll through the tropical gardens towards the 650-metre stretch of beach, where you can sunbathe in the Caribbean sunshine or snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. You can also take up non-motorised water sports, play a game of beach volleyball or catch a movie here. With the resort’s activity programme, you can enjoy tennis, basketball, water aerobics, dance lessons and Spanish classes. The fun continues into the evening as the open-air theatre hosts live shows and nightly entertainment.

Wellness facilities include a fully equipped fitness centre and a sprawling spa complex with 18 treatment rooms, a Swedish sauna, a steam room, a relaxation zone and a beauty salon. There are also dedicated areas for couples with hydromassage showers and tubs. For a supplement charge, you can book rejuvenating facials, massages and body treatments, or you can completely indulge your senses with a full wellness journey which incorporates multiple treatments.

Dining information

Delight in limitless gourmet a la carte dining and top-shelf spirits on site. La Riviera is an international buffet-style restaurant, open all day, and the Barefoot Grill serves delicious burgers and hot dogs by the beach during the daytime. El Patio serves Mexican cuisine, the Bluewater Grill specialises in steak and Himitsu is a modern Asian-fusion restaurant, offering spectacular ocean views. Olio is just as popular, with its tempting seafood menu and prime beachfront position, while the stylish French-themed Bordeaux restaurant has a wine cellar.

Unlimited drinks are available at all eight bars and lounges, and there are three exclusive bars for Preferred Club guests only. You can also enjoy breakfast and lunch at Olio if you are a Preferred Club guest. As part of the ‘Sip, Savor & See’ experience, you can also enjoy dinner, drinks and entertainment at the neighbouring sister resort, Dreams Royal Beach.

Additional information

Most restaurants have a casual dress code. This means that you can wear long shorts, sandals and trainers. Swimwear must remain covered, and men should wear shirts with sleeves. The formal dress code at Bordeaux means that men are expected to wear full-length trousers, collared shirts and dress shoes. Women can wear blouses, shirts, trousers or dresses with dress shoes.
