Occupying a clifftop position overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, Mangia’s Pollina Resort sits within 40 hectares of natural parkland. A kids’ club, large splash pool with a slide and a teens’ club makes this resort popular with families, while a private beach, five restaurants and a trio of bars provide treats for all ages.
Between the mountains and the sea, the resort is sat on a promontory, above a private volcanic beach. You can reach the stretch of sand and shingle via a five-minute stroll down a panoramic path, or whizz down one of two lifts built into the cliff. It’s just over four miles from the clifftop commune of Pollina and one and a half miles from the small seaside village of Finale, home to a modest handful of bars, cafes and shops. Cefalu is 10 miles to the east, known for its UNESCO-protected Norman cathedral, popular beach and restaurant- spotted old town. Sat between Catania and Palermo, Vincenzo Bellini Catania Airport is 130 miles to the south-east, approximately two and a half hours’ transfer, and Palermo Airport is 72 miles to the west, roughly an hour and a half away.
Whitewashed resort buildings are separated by tree and flower-lined terracotta pathways. Rooms are bright and Mediterranean in style, with sand and blue beach-themed colour schemes and nautical artwork. Upgrading from Standard to Superior, Deluxe options provide more space, while Superior Sea View and Deluxe Sea View rooms overlook the sea.

Surrounded by cream sun loungers and umbrellas, the rectangular outdoor pool is the perfect place for a cooling dip. A separate free-form pool, with a curling waterslide, offers space for young guests to splash about in. Venture down to the lunar-like beach for plenty of sunbathing opportunities. Explore the rugged coastline. Elsewhere, tennis and padel courts will keep you active on your getaway.
Little ones aged 4 to 12 can head to the kids’ club, where the animation team offers games, painting workshops and salt dough crafting. Perseo is the resort’s main restaurant, open for all-day dining with sea views. Additional dining options include Scausu Grill, proffering fresh grilled dishes, Donna Floriana, where you’ll find Sicilian recipes, Kaigan, serving local seafood and sushi and Al Grano Pizzeria, providing authentic pizzas.
For refreshments, choose from the Lime Bar, close to the pool, the beach bar, also offering light snacks, and the Narcisco Sunset Bar – which has views of the Gulf of Cefalu and the Aeolian Islands.
