Spend your time in or around the historic, adults-only pool – built along the cliff’s edge above Crane Beach – or enjoy the property’s vast cascading pool complex with its stunning Atlantic Ocean views. QR codes around the pool areas mean you can order food and drinks through the app for delivery straight to your sun lounger. Children will love splashing around in the separate wading pool or waterfall pool, while adults can soak up the clifftop vistas from the outdoor whirlpool. Steps lead directly down the cliff from the hotel to the shore, or you can take the glass-front lift down to the beach.

Down on the beach, you’ll be greeted by pink-toned sand and lush coconut palms. The Grove Beach Bar & Grill here provides complimentary umbrellas, sun loungers and swimming towels. The water is partially protected by a natural coral reef.

When you’re feeling active during your stay, visit the fitness centre with a selection of cardio equipment and weights, or take your pick from water aerobics, yoga and Zumba classes. Those who prefer to train in the great outdoors can play on the two floodlit tennis courts on site. The Crane offers preferential rates at the Barbados Golf Club, too, although this is just over seven miles from the hotel. After working out, reinvigorate and relax at The Serenity Spa, housed within the historic building. A range of treatments is available, whether you’re seeking a massage, facial, manicure or pedicure.

The Crane Village is the picturesque market square at the heart of the hotel, offering a collection of shops. This includes a convenience store selling groceries and a boutique retailing fine jewellery and watches. There’s even a well-known department store where you can enjoy duty-free shopping for luxury goods. This central hub is also home to the Calypso kids’ club, which caters for children aged 4 to 12 and hosts activities including arts and crafts, story times, discovery tours and talent shows.

Begin your day with a buffet breakfast at Azure restaurant, where you can try pancakes, cooked breakfasts (including a vegan breakfast) and continental options. There’s also a dedicated gluten-free station with a separate toaster. For dinner, the restaurant specialises in seafood and serves a tempting range of international and Caribbean delicacies, all accompanied by panoramic views across the Atlantic Ocean and Crane Beach. In the afternoon, Golden Hour brings light bites and cocktails to Azure. For an authentic Italian dinner, head to the charming Crane Village where you’ll find Poesia No.3. There’s also Zen, which offers specialist Japanese and Thai cuisine with wonderful views of Crane Beach. It’s open for dinner six nights per week.

The Carriage House – originally the hotel’s stables over a century ago – is now a contemporary poolside bar and grill. Order tasty grilled snacks and refreshing mixers during lunchtime, or return for a Steakhouse dinner in the evening. Alternatively, The Grove Bar & Grill boasts a prime beachfront location amongst the coconut groves. This is a popular lunchtime spot, where you can sample Bajan favourites in a casual, alfresco setting, with a Caribbean Cookout on Sundays and a barbecue dinner on Tuesdays.

Treat yourself to something sweet at the Village Cafe. Open daily, this spot serves cool ice creams, speciality coffee and homemade pastries. In the evenings, Bar 1887 is the perfect place to enjoy drinks and light bites, including tapas and pizza. Watch mixologists create signature cocktails or enjoy jazz entertainment on selected nights.

In-room dining is available for breakfast and dinner, or you can book a private chef to cook a meal for you in your kitchen (for a supplement).
