Overview

This friendly all-inclusive resort is one of the few adult-only hotels in Barbados. The Club Barbados Resort & Spa by Elite offers a warm and down-to-earth ambience with attentive staff, stunning sunset views over the ocean and a secluded setting – perfect for couples and groups of friends. The range of facilities include a tranquil spa complex with salon, three interconnected swimming pools and a plethora of water sports activities.

The Club Barbados enjoys a picturesque oceanfront location in St James, on the island’s beautiful west coast. Although the hotel’s beach has been subject to natural erosion over time, you can still access it when the tide is low and enjoy safe swimming in the calm waters. If you walk along the beachfront on either side, you’ll run into a fabulous public beach – including the nearby Sandy Lane beach (less than a quarter mile away). In Holetown, which stands just over a mile away, there are plenty of boutiques, bars and restaurants. Bridgetown, the Island’s capital, is under six miles distance away from the hotel, and it’s just over 16 miles to Grantley Adams Airport.

The hotel’s architecture and decor are characteristic of typical Barbados hotels, with traditional colonial pillars, large white-wood windows and tropical plants. Rooms are situated across four floors (though, there are no lifts). All rooms are spacious and comfortable with dark wooden furniture, cream tiled flooring and simple white bedding. This is complemented by touches of light turquoise and orange in the artwork, soft furnishings and bed runners. Bedrooms are simple but functional in design, with marble surfaces and tiled floors. All accommodation types feature mini-fridges and tea and coffee making facilities. Most rooms overlook the pool or tropical gardens, whilst Superior Oceanfront Rooms offer spectacular sea views from French balconies or patios. One Bedroom Beachfront Suites are close to the waterfront and offer separate bedroom and living space.

Other facilities

Whet your appetite for water sports with complimentary snorkelling, water skiing, windsurfing, kayaking and fishing. You can take advantage of the floodlit tennis courts, air-conditioned fitness centre, regular stretch classes and weekly Caribbean dance lessons, too.

The resort’s adult-only vibe creates a relaxing environment throughout. A three-tier swimming pool sits in the centre of the property; it’s divided by a waterfall and a separate cool-water whirlpool. This area is surrounded by lush tropical gardens, shady cabanas and plenty of sun loungers and parasols. In one pool you’ll find a volleyball net and balls, if you fancy a game in between sunbathing. Next to the beach, there’s also a sandy deck which overlooks the beautiful Caribbean waters. Here lies the perfect spot to unwind on a lounger with a refreshing cocktail in hand, whilst catching the gentle sea breeze.

For a break from the sun, retreat the onsite spa and salon to fully rejuvenate. Treatments range from soothing massages (for individuals or couples), aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and revitalising salt scrubs or body wraps. Beauty treatments include facials, hair care, manicures and pedicures. You’re welcome to use the steam room and sauna before your treatments.

Dining information

There are two restaurants at the resort, including Sunset Restaurant – the main open-air restaurant on the gorgeous oceanfront. Enjoy the lavish breakfast buffet with made to order pancakes, waffles or omelettes or a generous lunch and British-inspired afternoon tea. In the evenings there is a continental, a la carte menu, and you can delight in the lively Beach Barbeque with local Bajan music once a week. Try the fresh catch of the day or delicious fish cakes. Alternatively, ‘Enid’s – the resort’s vibrant Indian restaurant – serves authentic Bajan creations. This restaurant is open for dinner on selected nights.

The resort has three bars including a true Bajan rum shop where you can enjoy cocktails or participate in rum tasting sessions. Live entertainment is offered nightly with sing-alongs and nightly floor shows. In addition, a Manager's Cocktail Party is held weekly.

Additional information
