Ombria Kitchen is all about rustic charm with open wood-fired ovens and traditional Algarve flavours. For breakfast, think freshly baked breads, sun-ripened fruits and traditional sweet treats. Lunch and dinner are hearty affairs with generous portions of regional specialities cooked over a Josper Grill. Come sunset, you’ll be sitting out on the terrace with a glass of wine soaking in the views. The space itself is warm, inviting and exceptionally stylish, with sleek black hardware, blond wood tables and contemporary geometric accents that give it a modern flair. Over at Solalua, you’ll find bamboo ceilings and rattan bar stools, with back-lit stone archways making the whole place glow. Savour local port and tonics at sundown, espresso martinis after dark or choose from a carefully curated menu of wines and bubbles. The Portuguese-style small plates here are just as good as the music, which plays long into the night.

For something more laid-back, Cafe Central is your go-to. This patisserie-style spot is the place to grab a fluffy pastry and sip on a deliciously roasted coffee while watching the world go by. If sport and live entertainment are more your thing, head to Casa E Fora to catch the latest game and dazzling performances, while sipping on a craft beer or cocktail and tucking into comfort food with a Portuguese twist. Spilling out onto a castle-top terrace, this venue is made for taking in the Algarve’s golden hour and those unbeatable mountain views. Leather-upholstered chairs meet whitewashed brick walls and clean wooden beams for an organic look with a modern edge. Serving mouth-watering meals daily, this venue is also open for dinner twice a week during the winter season.
