Frankfurt Airport’s two terminals are located 7.5 miles (12 Kilometres) from central Frankfurt. Trains depart for Frankfurt’s Central Station from Terminal 1 every 15 minutes, arriving 11 minutes later. Buses from Terminal 1 also run, arriving at Frankfurt’s southern Station in 20-30 minutes. Tickets are bought from machines before boarding and are valid across Frankfurt’s public excellent transport system, which includes underground trains and trams.
Germany’s busiest airport has plenty of places to shop, eat and drink. In the Terminal 1 departure lounge, try Haussman’s restaurant for new cooking from Tim Mälzer, Germany’s answer to Jamie Oliver. Alternatively, dine with runway views at Kafer’s, a French-style bistro in the terminal’s public area. There is also a wide range of duty free shopping available in the airport’s departure lounges.
