You’re around 20 miles from Male International Airport. Once you land, it’s a smooth, 40-minute speedboat ride across the blue to the island. When you’re ready to venture beyond, hop aboard one of the resort’s traditional Dhoni boats for sunset and stargazing cruises out on the calm waters. Take a day trip, 20 miles across the water, to Himmafushi. This nearby island is known for its swells and local handicrafts. Head back to mainland Male and tour the Hukuru Miskiiy Mosque (Old Friday Mosque) or dive into Maldivian culture at the National Museum. The resort’s main restaurant, Lime & Chili, has you covered from morning till night, with buffet-style spreads done beautifully. It's all fresh fish, sizzling grills and decadent desserts – best enjoyed with your toes in the sand. Ambient music sets a chill scene, and a Gala Dinner every Wednesday features dishes inspired by the Indian Ocean. Charcoal is the resort’s fine dining gem, set right by the sea and open to the balmy breeze. Expect a romantic mood and prime cuts. Open for dinner only (and closed on Fridays), the menu is full of classic showstoppers like juicy filet mignon and ribeye steaks, Burbon baby back ribs and seasonal veggies to pair. There are kebab platters to share, too, as well as dreamy desserts and a sensational drinks list.
Head to Kaage for lunches and dinners that delve into Maldivian cuisine. This charming spot features indoor seating and two calm courtyards. For something with a coastal-Mediterranean twist, NU is part bar, part fine dining, and entirely lovely. Open for lunch and dinner, it’s breezy, bright and perched over the lagoon. Settle in here for a seafood lunch or swing by as the sun sets for vintage cocktails and sparkling ocean vistas.
When it’s time for something cold and sparkling, Bay Rouge is the place. This poolside bar and lounge is open-air and ocean-facing, keeping things chilled.
